Our Mission...

... is to raise money to donate to mastiff rescue organizations, to encourage healthier futures of mastiffs through responsible breeding and to support mastiff health research projects. Everyone's hard work, donations, support and encouragement is what makes the picnic a success!

2011 Mastiff Picnic Beneficiaries

We have chosen the Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue as recipients of half of the proceeds from this year's picnic! Supporting Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, GLMR works tirelessly to help mastiffs find their new leash on life!

The other half of this year's proceeds will be donated to Mastiff health research.

Mastiff BLOOD DRIVE for Canine Cancer Research

This year, we are holding a BLOOD DRIVE to help MIT and Harvard University research cancer for the Dog Genome Project.

The Procedure: "What we usually ask for is 5 mL of blood from each dog (if possible) and for the owners to fill out our consent form which gives us permission to use the sample in our study ... One of the main projects where we are using Mastiff samples is in our osteosarcoma project, where we are collecting samples both from dogs affected with osteosarcoma and healthy dogs."

Read about our current research.

To Participate in the Blood Drive:

  • Download, complete and bring our consent form on the day of the picnic.
  • You must provide your dog's pedigree or AKC Number.
  • All information is kept strictly confidential.
