Our Mission ... is to raise money to donate to mastiff rescue organizations, to encourage healthier futures of mastiffs through responsible breeding and to support mastiff health research projects. Everyone's hard work, donations, support and encouragement is what makes the picnic a success!


2012 Mastiff Picnic Beneficiaries:

GLMR, FORM and MUGS

We are honored to announce this year's Rescue recipients. Proceeds from the Mastiff Picnic will be donated primarily to Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue and Friends of Rescued Mastiffs. A small portion of the proceeds will be donated to Mastiffs United with Guardians, Inc. to be reserved for a future English Mastiff in need.

Before you Attend the Picnic!

  • Before you can attend the picnic, please view the Picnic Rules.
  • If you are bringing your four-legged friends, you must print and sign the Picnic Waiver Form.

Admission Information - PREPAY to $AVE!

  • Admission to the picnic is: $5.00 per Adult (PREPAID), $8.00 at the door, Kids are always FREE.
  • This year, we are offering a discount for anyone who will PREPAY their ADULT admissions online through PayPal. To prepay, and save $3.00 PER adult admission, CLICK HERE to begin! Please note, this prepaid admission is NON-REFUNDABLE!

What is Provided, and What to Bring

  • Hamburgers and Hotdogs are provided along with drinks.
  • Please bring a side dish to share!
  • Bring your CHECKBOOK or CASH to participate in our Art Auction, and Basket Raffles!

Mastiff Health Clinic

The technicians and staff of Seville Animal Hospital will be running this year's Health Clinic from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM!

NOTE: If you are required to fill out paperwork for a test you would like to participate in, you MUST fill out the paperwork in its ENTIRETY before you arrive at the picnic. If your paperwork is not complete, we are sorry but we can not accept your test.

General Instructions

  • You must provide a copy of your dog's AKC Registration Form.
  • Please bring your checkbook, as you will be required to submit your fee on the day of the test.
  • All information is kept strictly confidential.

Cystinuria Marker DNA Test

Print, fully complete and bring the "Mastiff-Type" Cystinuria Marker DNA Test Submission Form with you on the day of the picnic.

PRA/CMR Testing

Print, fully complete and bring the PRA/CMR Testing Form with you on the day of the picnic. Note: Mastiffs are listed on the form as "OLD ENGLISH MASTIFF".

General Cystinuria Testing (Urine only)

Print, fully complete and bring the Mastiff Club of America, Inc. Cystinuria Submission Form with you on the day of the picnic.

2:30 PM - 3:00 PM...Health Seminar: BLOAT AND CPR
Tammy Kinkade, an MCONO member, will provide a 30 minute seminar on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of Bloat. She will also demonstrate the Bloat acupressure point, which can provide much needed time to get your dog to the vet if he/she has not torsioned. Tammy will provide handouts and do the demonstration on a live dog.

Tammy will also provide a short seminar on how to perform CPR on a Giant breed dog. This lifesaving technique could give you that much needed extra time to transport your dog to the closest Emergency Vet.

We are so happy to welcome Liz Simon to the Mastiff Picnic this year in order to judge our AKC Sanctioned "B" Match. Come on over and watch the fun!

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM....CGC and TDI Testing
Sheri Hart, from the Mastiff Club of Northern Ohio will be on hand to perform CGC and TDI testing. If you have been putting off getting either of these certifications for your dog, there's no time like the present!

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM....Fun Match
Judge: Ms. Elizabeth (Liz) Simon
The Mastiff Picnic will be hosting a Fun Match directly following the "B" Match for non-AKC registered mastiffs! If you have never shown before, now is the time to get in the ring with your best buddy and strut around like you own the place. Get your cameras ready, it will be a fun time!

Art Auction to benefit Rescue Organizations!

Again this year, we will be holding an art auction that will directly benefit SIX amazing and very hard-working Rescue Organizations! We will be featuring SIX original priceless artworks. We will be accepting personal checks so please BRING YOUR CHECKBOOKS! Own an original piece of mastiff art and help one of these amazing organizations at the same time!

Family Portraits at the Mastiff Picnic!


Once again, we welcome back Dale Churchill of DogPhoto.com to the picnic this year! Dale will be on hand to capture your picnic memories in an everlasting, professional portrait of your entire family (dogs included!). For a $20 donation ($25 the day of the event), Dale will be thrilled to photograph your family. You can also prepay and reserve a sitting time.

FREE Chair Massages by Misty!

Misty, a certified massage therapist, will be on hand this year to treat you to a free 10 minute Chair Massage! Misty has generously donated her time to make sure that our four-legged friends aren't the only ones being pampered at the picnic.

Costume Contest

Has your dog ever fantasized about being that Hunka Hunka Burning Love ... ELVIS? What about powers? Has your girl ever said she wishes she was Lady Dog Dog (er, Ga Ga) but hid it behind her Poker Face? Maybe she has secretly desired to be Minnie Pearl but is too shy to admit it! Well, now is their chance! This year at the picnic, there will be a Costume Contest! Prizes awarded to the top three costumes.
